    Ukraine on the eve of the parliamentary elections: public opinion of Ukrainians

    If the elections were held in the first half of April 2012, the following parties would win seats in the parliament: Party of Regions – 24.5%, Batkivshchyna – 16.8%, Front of Changes (Arseniy Yatsenyuk) – 11.9%, the UDAR party of Vitaliy Klitschko – 9.0%, the Communist Party of Ukraine – 5.6%, the Civilian Position party of Anatoliy Hrytsenko – 3.5% and the Svoboda party of Oleh Tyahnybok – 3.0%. 18% of the electorate in the eastern regions of Ukraine is undecided, while only 11% in the western regions are undecided.

    Experience of Ukraine and Georgia in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration

    Ilko Kucheriv’s Democratic Initiative Foundation has conducted the international expert survey regarding the ways and methods of conducting the informational-educational campaign “Ukraine-NATO”. 51 experts were polled in Ukraine on August 3 – September 7, 2011. 12 experts were polled in Georgia on October 1-17, 2011.

    University Admission Based on Standardized External Testing Scores in Public Opinion Surveys

    Comparison of data obtained on two nation-wide surveys carried out in Aril and September 2011 indicates that a consistent public opinion has been established in Ukraine regarding support of the standardized external testing (SET) as a key university admission criterion. It is important that the SET receives favorable appreciation from proponents of different political forces. Institutionally-administered university entrance examinations are equally not supported by proponents of either the Party of Regions, “Batkivschyna” and the “Front of Change”.

    Recommendations of the International Conference «For Our Freedom and Yours: For Our Common Future!»

    Participants of the International Conference “For Our Freedom and Yours! For Our Common Future!”, which was held in Lviv on October, 25-27, have worked out the recommendations on development of the civil society and provision of support to six countries, participants of the Eastern Partnership (Ukraine, Moldova, Belorussia, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan). Part of these recommendations was included into the document sent to the European Committee and the whole document represent mutual position of Ukrainian NGOs at the Forum of the Civil Society in Brussels.
